November 1st was Rotary Foundation Day! We all became Rotarians to make a difference in our community and throughout the world. The Rotary Foundation is the mechanism through which much of this happens.
If you were not at the November 1st meeting, please let Amber Sadowski know how much you would like to contribute on behalf of new Paul Harris fellows! Our goal is for every Rotarian gives a minimum of $100 per year to the Rotary Foundation - less than $2 per week! You can pay by check, credit card, or set up a recurring payment plan to automatically deduct your contribution. Visit rotary.org to set this up and learn more about the Foundation. Please make sure to include your personal Rotary ID and the Club ID in your donation.
Thank you for your contribution to the Rotary Foundation and for making a commitment to making a difference in the world!
During the October 2023 board meeting, the Harbortown Rotary Board of Directors unanimously voted to increase meal rates from $12 to $15. This is the first increase since 2020 and is in response to the club absorbing the $6,000 difference between actual meal costs and dues collected for meals. Our actual meal cost is around $22 per meal after tax and gratuity are added to our weekly invoice.
You will see the new meal rates included in your next quarterly invoice, effective July 1, 2023.
Finally, this rate increase will not cover the meal gap entirely by itself. With that said, I will be reaching out to Rule of 85 members separately to discuss further potential changes moving forward.
If you have questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to call or email me.
Use the Google Photos link below to share them with us, so we can spread the word about how awesome our members are and the impact we're making on our community!
Thank you for being a dedicated member of our Rotary community. Without all your work on Rotary’s behalf and your commitment to our mission, Rotary would not be a global leader in building peace throughout the world and finding common ground in our humanity.
Rotary is, above all, a collective effort, and we rely on members like you to help us understand how we can improve and grow in the future. This survey is your opportunity to tell us whether Rotary is meeting your expectations.
To complete the survey, please click on the link below. It will take only 5 to 10 minutes and will provide us with invaluable information about your experience in Rotary.
This is your personal link, and all your fellow members should have received their own.
If you have questions about the survey, write to surveys@rotary.org. And if you are interested in the results from previous years, you can find them on the Rotary Research page of My Rotary.
Thank you for helping us make Rotary better, together.
Sincerely,
R. Gordon R. McInally Präsident 2023/24 Rotary International
If you have an upcoming program duty (please check the upcoming duty roster), please be sure to secure a speaker and provide notice to Chloe Strand (Chloe.Strand@hdcmn.org) as soon as that speaker is confirmed. If you are unable to confirm a speaker, please contact Rick Oase (rickoase@yahoo.com) or Stephanie Judd (sljudd@gmail.com) for help, consider other program ideas like a Ted Talk, presenting yourself on a relevant topic or your business, or creating some excitement for a community organization you are passionate about. It is your program, so think about what is interesting and engaging to you and share it with others!
If for some reason you are unable to switch duties with another member or you have simply exhausted all efforts to find a speaker, please notify Rick or Stephanie no later than 3 business days before the meeting (the Friday before the meeting your program is scheduled).
Harbortown Rotary has a Windows 11 laptop at the Kitchi Gammi Club for weekly Harbortown meetings. Presenters may bring a USB drive with the PowerPoint presentation (or whatever is wanted to be shown on the projector while speaking). Please share this information with your program's presenter.
Thank you for your help and thank you to all who are working hard to find engaging content for our upcoming sessions!
