District Governor Kay Parries has been a member of the Moorhead Rotary Club since 1988 and served as President in 1995/96 and 2012/13. She also was a member of the Fargo West Club during a change in job location.
Kay served as an Assistant Governor for Area 5, for six years in the Fargo/Moorhead Clubs. She calls that one of her favorite Rotary positions. She continues to work with the Fargo/Moorhead 5 Club Presidents group.
Kay is originally from Elgin, Illinois. Her first knowledge of Rotary was a Rotary High School Scholarship.
She has worked in retail for the past 44 years. She worked for Herberger’s Department Store for 23 years, starting in LaCrosse, WI. After 21 years, she closed her store and retired again from retail. Dan worked for Wells Fargo and, after retirement, helped Kay at the store.
Kay and Dan have been married for 35 years and have a daughter. Emily is an RN in Fargo, married to Tyler. They have two boys, Tate, four years old, and Hayden, 18 months.
Kay will continue to promote Mental Health with a focus on Children, and the Environment. She loves Rotary President Stephanie Urchick’s, theme, The Magic of Rotary, and encourages everyone to embrace it and have fun
