Join us Wednesday morning at 7:30am in the Great Hall - Kitchi Gammi Club (831 E Superior St, Duluth, MN 55802) as we hear from Matthew Sjelin, Director of the Karpeles Museum.
The Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with eight locations across the US. Founded in 1983 by David and Marsha Karpeles with the purpose to inspire curiosity and encourage learning, the Karpeles Manuscript Library archives contain more than a million historical documents in the categories of literature, science, religion, political history, exploration, music and art. To make the collection more accessible to the general public, all Karpeles museums are free to visit, and the collection rotates between its museums three times per year.
Matthew Sjelin was born in the Twin Ports area of Duluth, MN and is one of those rare birds who moved away to the Twin Cities and came back thanks to his love for the the lake. When he's not running the museum, Sjelin can be found playing in the local band The Trash Cats.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered at the Bike Duluth Festival this past weekend. The festival was a huge success and could not have happened without all of the hard work put in by Harbortown and many other volunteers.
We had a great turnout for volunteers this year. Despite having to stop the races early on Saturday due to lightening, the energy was still positive throughout the entire day!
With the success of the festival, we can continue to give back to the community and the local bike trails.
