Join us Wednesday morning at 7:30am in the Great Hall - Kitchi Gammi Club (831 E Superior St., Duluth, MN 55802) as we hear from Dr. Jose Velasquez, of Mano a Mano Bolivia.
Dr. Jose Velasquez is a pediatrician based in Bolivia who played a crucial role in the founding of Mano a Mano International Partners, a Minnesota-based nonprofit that has shipped over 3.5 million pounds of medical supplies and built over 300 infrastructure projects. He is the brother of Mano a Mano co-founder, Segundo Velasquez.
Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup and Unite for Water: Twin Ports Rotary Clubs Joint Project:
Saturday, April 25, 10am - 12pm
This week we are celebrating Earth Day. I remember the first one in 1970, when I was attending East High School. Remember how Canal Park used to be a junkyard with dive bars? I think that's my old Chevrolet in the photo. We are participating in the Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup with hundreds of other Rotary Clubs around the five Great Lakes. Join in on the fun event next Saturday, April 25th, 2026, 10 AM at Park Point, with parking near Sky Harbor. Karl Everett
Remember to wear clothing appropriate for the weather, and bring water and work gloves if you have them (some will be provided, as will treats and prizes).
My name is Anja Erickson and I'm a student at Duluth East High School. Our Student Government is putting on a spring festival benefiting local nonprofits, such as the Damiano Center and the Depot Foundation. There will be live music, food, dancing, family friendly activities, and a silent auction with $2,000+ of items donated by businesses in the area. When speaking to several students here, I was informed that this event might be something Harbortown Rotarians and their families may be interested in attending, and spreading the word about. We'd love to see you there!
If you have the upcoming program duty (check the duty roster here), please be sure to secure a speaker and provide notice to Chloe Strand (chloestrand90@gmail.com) as soon as your speaker is confirmed. If you are unable to confirm a speaker, please contact Lauren Farden (lauren.farden@edwardjones.com) for help. If you have a different assigned program duty and cannot make it to the meeting, please find a replacement.
Harbortown Rotary has a Windows 11 laptop. Presenters may bring a USB drive with the PowerPoint presentation (or whatever is wanted to be shown on the projector while speaking). Please share this information with your program's presenter.
There will be some changes to the Club Service role starting 7/1/26. There will now be a Club Service Committee: Chloe Strand, Brad Jenson, & Steph Jago.
