Udac is a local non-profit serving the Duluth community working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Uac advances opportunities for people of all abilities through education, job training and skill development to allow them to successfully gain community employment and live life fully in the community.
 
Karen Herman is the executive director of Udac.  Karen’s background includes a 32 year administrative and clinical career at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where she led development of nationally recognized medical quality programs, creation of medical and allied health continuing education programs, fundraising programs and diversity and inclusion employee programs. She has held leadership roles and been involved in many national and state professional organizations and healthcare collaboratives. Karen has extensive experience in program development, group facilitation and process improvement, and in non-profit administration.  She was principal of Arete Defined Consulting, providing consulting services on non-profit effectiveness and leadership development.
